GENERAL SUMMARY
Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Planner-Estimator in Norfolk, VA.
LOCATION
Norfolk, VA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all aspects of the task assigned from job scoping to completion. Works with ship to determine boundaries of the task. Reviews drawings for material, tracks material Tracks progress of the task using Microsoft project. Develops and updates Technical Work Instruction (TWI). Stops work and seeks guidance when TWI instructions are unclear, drawings or work step instructions conflict with existing conditions, non-destructive and system tests fail to meet acceptance criteria. Research and develops response to Condition Reports (CRs) as needed to document issues in configuration, workability of the TWI, and growth in scope Provides feedback to Program Manager, Government Reps, OSIC's.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Graduate of high school, trade, or industrial school.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of six years of experience in developing work packages and TWIs for ship maintenance 3 years of experience in the supervision of technical support for Alteration/SC installation, maintenance and repair of HM&E ship systems. May be required to travel for work to other locations. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Must possess advanced computer skills to enter data into different databases. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with OSIC and government officials. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals. Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MDS). Able to follow safety procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required on a regular basis to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear. Frequently the employee is required to carry objects that might weigh up to 50 pounds.
SALARY RANGE
$60,000 - $110,000 per year In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.
