We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support the pursuit and delivery of federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of construction estimating experience , with a strong preference for experience estimating federal government projects. This position will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, reviewing plans and specifications, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing, and supporting the preparation of complete proposals for federal construction opportunities. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for federal construction projects. Review and interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Develop detailed bid tabs, estimate summaries, and pricing comparisons. Research labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to establish competitive pricing. Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential project risks. Review solicitations, amendments, drawings, specifications, and other procurement documents. Assist with developing complete and compliant federal government proposals. Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the estimating team. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and project scope reviews. Assist with RFI development and clarification of ambiguous or incomplete bid documents. Maintain accurate and organized estimating documentation and bid files. Support value engineering and cost-saving opportunities. Assist with estimating change orders and modifications when needed. Meet proposal deadlines and ensure estimates are accurate, thorough, and competitive. Qualifications 4-5 years of construction estimating experience. Experience with commercial, industrial, civil, or government construction projects. Federal construction estimating experience strongly preferred. Experience with projects for agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, or other federal agencies is highly desirable. Ability to independently perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed estimates. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience with federal contracting and solicitation requirements. Familiarity with FAR, Davis-Bacon wage requirements, bonding requirements, and federal proposal procedures . Experience with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, HCSS, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms . Experience estimating projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale new construction. Knowledge of CSI divisions, subcontractor scopes, and construction specifications. Experience with Design-Bid-Build and/or Design-Build federal projects. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented estimator who can take ownership of assigned estimates while working effectively with senior estimating and operations personnel. They should have a strong understanding of construction costs and the ability to analyze drawings, specifications, subcontractor proposals, and project requirements to develop accurate and competitive bids.

Pay:

$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
