Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Associate or Technical degree preferred Preferred 1+ years' experience in custom metal fabrication industry and an understanding of manufacturing processes Excellent blueprint reading skills Experience with or ability to learn SolidWorks, DXF, DWG and PDF software Strong math skills Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment, particularly with the use of MS Excel Ability to analyze and multitask, with a strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and quickly under the pressure of tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities

Review and evaluate Requests for Estimates Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material and labor estimates Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services Track actual costs relative to bid as project develops Consult with customers, vendors and team members in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates while resolving issues as needed Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components Set up cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures Use of Microsoft Excel, Solid Works, DWG, DXF Travel to customer facilities or jobsites as needed Other job duties as assigned
