Heavy Civil Estimator Sumner, WA $135,000•$185,000 + Bonus + Strong Benefits A well-established heavy civil general contractor is looking to bring on an experienced Estimator to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects in the Sumner, WA area. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of work including grading, utilities, site development, and transportation projects, with a company known for its strong backlog, collaborative culture, and long-term career growth. Responsibilities Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and site development Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate scopes of work and pricing Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers Analyze project risks, constructability, and value engineering opportunities Develop and maintain budgets covering labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs Coordinate with project management and field teams throughout the bid process Assist with bid strategy, proposal development, and post-bid analysis Experience Needed 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction Experience estimating projects involving earthwork, utilities, roadwork, or site development Exposure to public and/or private sector bids (DOT, municipal, sitework, etc.) Proven ability to manage multiple bids with tight deadlines Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong understanding of construction means & methods, cost structures, and estimating techniques Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents Experience with estimating software (HCSS, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, etc.) Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Benefits Competitive base salary: $135,000•$185,000 Performance-based bonus structure Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement PTO and paid holidays Strong backlog of local projects (long-term stability) Clear path for growth into Senior Estimator or leadership roles Call to Action If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity please apply today!
