Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting the successful bidding process for commercial construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and aligned with client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction initiatives while utilizing cutting-edge estimating tools and software. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and material requirements. Utilize estimating software to develop precise cost estimates. Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment expenses to compile comprehensive project budgets. Prepare detailed bid proposals, including pricing strategies and cost breakdowns that align with project requirements. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable terms and ensure accurate pricing. Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission while maintaining accuracy and competitiveness. Monitor cost control measures during project execution to ensure budgets are adhered to and identify potential overruns early. Review construction contracts and manage documentation related to project scope changes or adjustments in estimates. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate quantities of materials needed for each project phase. Support project management teams by providing detailed cost analysis and assisting in managing project schedules and resources. Experience Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or similar tools. Extensive knowledge of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and blueprints effectively. Experience in material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and cost management for large-scale projects. Solid understanding of contracts, project management principles, and construction site operations. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Construction industry experience that includes estimating for commercial projects with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Familiarity with managing budgets for multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
