Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires proficiency in various estimating software, including HeavyBid and Bluebeam, as well as a solid understanding of contract negotiation and cost control measures. The Project Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for bid preparation. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create detailed estimates and proposals. Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate contracts effectively. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, implementing cost control measures as needed. Prepare and present estimates to management and clients, explaining the rationale behind pricing decisions. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information that may impact project costs. Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Qualifications Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the construction industry or related field. Strong understanding of construction site operations, project management principles, and construction management practices. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for accuracy in cost estimation. Ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients while negotiating favorable terms. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Familiarity with cost control techniques and contract management processes is essential.
