The Commercial Sales Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of estimation to compile accurate estimates for potential commercial projects. The Estimator prepares accurate estimates for projects, by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of HVAC equipment, materials, and methods of installation and strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. This position requires establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other key persons. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. This position reports directly to the Commercial Sales Manager and will work closely with our sales engineer, project management, and field teams. Responsibilities:
Understand the project/program and its requirements Accurately estimate, plan, and design HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software Effectively interact with the engineer, sales, and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed within budget and on time, according to plans and specifications Determine key variables for cost and other estimates Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venues Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc. Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors Perform risk analysis Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate individuals Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) and generate balance reports, maintenance binders, and pre-flight job binders with specifications Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and installation teams to ensure designs are fully executable and cost-efficient. Select equipment and materials based on project requirements and best engineering practices. Provide support during construction and installation phases, including jobsite visits. Support the development of internal standards, templates, and best practices.
Job Requirements:
5 or more years experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record (required) Clean driving record with valid license Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other contruction documents Strong organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of building codes and mechanical standards preferred Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and execute detailed oriented skills Ability to safely and comfortably work at elevated levels, including climbing ladders and utilizing appropriate safety equipment. ServiceTitan and Microsoft Office experience a plus Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) a plus This is a full-time role Monday-Friday. Occasional overtime may be needed during peak periods
