Estimator - Morgantown, WV Lunova Group is partnering with a growing utilities-focused construction company to identify an Estimator to support ongoing and future work in West Virginia and surrounding markets. About the Role With continued growth and evolving project demands, our client is seeking an Estimator to serve as a key partner to leadership in supporting preconstruction and bidding efforts. This individual will play a critical role in reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, developing estimates, and helping position projects for successful execution. This is primarily an estimating-focused position, with project management responsibilities serving as a secondary component of the role. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys solving problems, working through project details, and collaborating closely with operations leadership to develop competitive and accurate bids. The position is based in Morgantown, WV and will primarily be office-based, with occasional site visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates Collaborate with leadership to evaluate project risks, opportunities, and bid strategies Assist in preparing proposals, budgets, and project pricing Support preconstruction planning and project handoff activities Coordinate with operations and field teams to ensure estimating accuracy Maintain and organize estimating data, historical costs, and project information Assist with project tracking, job costing, and operational support as needed Participate in occasional site visits to gather information and support estimating efforts Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies as the company continues to grow
Qualifications & Requirements:
2+ years of experience in utility construction, infrastructure, or a related construction field Gas, water, or other underground utilities experience preferred Experience reviewing plans and performing quantity takeoffs Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating or construction software is a plus (e.g., HCSS) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment Professional, self-motivated, and comfortable wearing multiple hats Willingness to work primarily out of the Morgantown, WV area (with limited regional travel)
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
