Job Description

Electrical Estimator | Industrial & Commercial Projects | $70k
  • 95k | Full-Time | Weekly Pay X3 is a leading construction firm specializing in EPC solutions for power infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission, and distribution systems.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Electrical Estimator to develop accurate, comprehensive estimates that drive our company's profitability and reputation. Reporting directly to the COO , you will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase, from initial quantity takeoffs to final bid submission.
Key Responsibilities Estimate Development:
Prepare detailed electrical estimates including quantity takeoffs, labor units, material pricing, and subcontractor quotes.
Document Analysis:
Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and addendums to ensure every project detail is captured.
Database Management:
Maintain and update product and pricing databases within ConEst IntelliBid .
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Support the sales team during the bidding process and assist production teams with scope and labor assumptions for awarded projects.
Vendor Relations:
Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure bid accuracy.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to new estimators to ensure consistent practices across the team.
What You Bring Education:
High school diploma required; a degree in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, or Engineering is preferred.
Experience:
3-7 years of industrial electrical estimating experience, with a preference for substation project experience. A background as a Journey-level Electrician is highly valued.
Software Proficiency:
Minimum 2 years of experience with estimating platforms (e.g., Trimble Accubid, McCormick) and the ability to utilize ConEst IntelliBid .
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PDF markup tools (Bluebeam), and the ability to interpret complex construction blueprints.
Financial Acumen:
A solid understanding of job costing, markup strategies, and profit analysis. Performance Standards (Success in this role is defined by): Estimated material quantities falling within 5% of actual usage. Consistently accurate, complete, and on-time bid submissions. Professional and solution-oriented communication with all internal and external stakeholders. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Ability to work 8-10 hour days, including occasional early mornings or late evenings. Occasional travel for work-related functions, potentially in varying weather conditions.
