Job Description
Overview The Flooring Installation Skilled Tradesman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of floor coverings at NextMod. This position involves working with a variety of materials, including broadloom carpet, carpet tile, sheet vinyl, self-cove sheet vinyl, VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile), and plank flooring. The tradesman ensures all flooring is installed to the highest standards, meets safety regulations, and enhances the functionality and aesthetic of modular buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Flooring Installation:
- Accurately measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installations.
- Install broadloom carpet, carpet tiles, sheet vinyl, and self-cove sheet vinyl following precise specifications.
- Lay and secure VCT and plank flooring using appropriate adhesives and tools.
Surface Preparation:
- Smooth and level surfaces using tools such as sanders, grinders, or special media.
- Remove existing flooring and prepare subflooring as needed.
Repair and Maintenance:
- Perform regular inspections to identify damaged or worn flooring.
- Execute repairs on various flooring materials, ensuring functionality and aesthetic standards.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and materials.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in flooring installation and repair.
- Knowledge of different flooring materials and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical stamina for manual work.
Pay:
