Duties Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to ensure precise tile and flooring layouts. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate underlayments or adhesives for optimal installation results. Install various flooring materials such as ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, vinyl floors, hardwoods, epoxy coatings, carpet, and laminate with attention to detail. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and secure tiles or flooring materials. Perform floor refinishing tasks including buffing, sealing, caulking joints, and water damage restoration to restore surfaces to their best condition. Follow safety protocols related to building installation safety compliance and handling building materials during all phases of installation. Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to interpret construction plans and ensure timely project completion. Skills Extensive experience in construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings for accurate project execution. Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, saws, drills; as well as power tools including tile cutters and grinders. Knowledge of installation techniques for epoxy floors, vinyl floors, hardwoods, carpets, and tile laying. Skilled in building material installation with an emphasis on flooring systems and fixture installation. Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely during construction site work. Experience with water damage restoration processes and floor refinishing techniques. Strong understanding of construction site experience with a focus on remodeling projects and building installation safety compliance.
