Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Flooring Crew Lead to head our on-site installation teams. Operating at a journeyman level of craftsmanship, you will be the backbone of our field operations—balancing elite technical skill with crew leadership. You will manage job sites from setup to final walkthrough, guide apprentices, and ensure MFSI's strict standards of quality are met on every project. Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Job Site Management Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of installers on daily residential job sites. Review work orders, floor plans, and layout requirements to plan the most efficient installation sequence. Delegate tasks to crew members and inspect work continuously to maintain MFSI's high standards of quality. Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized job site from prep to final cleanup. Technical Craftsmanship & Prep Assess and prepare subfloors (leveling, patching, sanding, and testing moisture levels) to guarantee a flawless, long-lasting foundation. Accurately measure, cut, and install a wide variety of high-quality flooring materials based on customer selections. Masterfully handle complex layouts, transitions, custom cuts, and finish trim work (baseboards, quarter-rounds). Customer Experience & Coordination Act as a professional primary point of contact for clients on-site, guiding them through the installation process and ensuring complete satisfaction. Verify material deliveries against work orders before beginning production to eliminate errors or shortages. Communicate project progress, timelines, or necessary adjustments seamlessly back to the main office in Saint Peters.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

Journeyman-level flooring installation experience, with a proven track record of leading a crew or managing job sites independently.

Technical Savvy:

Deep knowledge of industry hand and power tools, layout design, and proper subfloor prep.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, kneel/crouch for long stretches, and handle the physical demands of daily field labor.

License:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:

$30.00 per hour
