We are searching for a Maintenance Assistant that is resident, and family focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a facility culture. The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Maintenance Director with maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from the supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures. Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveway, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed. Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures. Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services. Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment. Clean windows and screens as directed. Replace burned out light bulbs, including exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc. and perform housekeeping duties in very high places. Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to the supervisor immediately. Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer and in compliance with established policies and procedures. Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed. Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor as soon as possible. Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to the supervisor immediately. Ensure maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary. Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shifts/areas. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved. Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for patient/resident comfort and convenience. Ensure that patient/resident rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints are followed. Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies. etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, at the end of the workday, etc. Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, etc., to ensure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times. Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms/areas. Other related duties may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor, department director, and/or Administrator. Participates in the overall quality assessment and improvement of program activities.Exciting Benefits:

Previous maintenance experience preferred. Previous nursing home experience preferred. Knowledgeable in boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred. Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations preferred.Physical Requirements:
Work requires physical activity including extended periods of walking and standing with occasional climbing, reaching, carrying, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and bending during working hours. Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or carry equipment, files, heavy equipment, supplies, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds as well as push/pull up to 50 pounds of force with grip strength of 65 pounds. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must be able to continuously perform simple manipulative dexterity tasks. Occasionally perform difficult manipulative tasks. Must be able to detect the smell of smoke, spoiled food, soiled linen, etc. The employee must be able to continuously hear normal sounds and voice patterns with some background noise. You must have adequate verbal instructions. Must be able to hear audible emergency signals, alarms, call, light indicators, and to be able to answer the phone. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. About theCompany:
