Job Description
Overview Work for an insurance restoration business as a carpet installer. We need someone with experience and proven they can work well in this field. The starting rate is 18 an hour but depending on your experience and quality of work we are willing to bump it up. Responsibilities Measure and prepare work areas accurately using schematics, blueprints, and floor plans to ensure precise installation. Remove old flooring materials carefully, including carpet, tile, or other coverings, preparing surfaces for new installation. Install carpets, tile laying, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and other flooring materials using hand tools and power tools with attention to detail. Read schematics and construction drawings to understand project specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards. Conduct water damage restoration assessments and perform necessary repairs or floor care to restore surfaces to optimal condition. Utilize caulking, buffing, and painting techniques during remodeling or restoration projects for a seamless finish. Operate construction equipment such as concrete finishing tools or scaffolding safely on construction sites. Collaborate with team members on construction estimating and project planning to meet deadlines efficiently. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris following safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients or supervisors regarding project progress or any unforeseen issues during installation. Qualifications Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction fields; water damage restoration experience is a plus. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, buffing machines, and other construction equipment safely and effectively. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating processes. Familiarity with various flooring materials including carpet, tile, laminate, vinyl, and hardwood. Experience with restoration industry practices such as water damage repair or floor care is advantageous. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret project specifications for successful execution. Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and teamwork skills. Additional skills such as cabinetry installation, handyman experience, remodeling expertise or construction painting are beneficial but not required.
