Crating Technician

Job Summary | The Crating Technician in the Shipping department is responsible for packaging product into crates and wooden A-Frames in the final phase of fabrication at Cardinal IG, a world-class glass fabricator that leads the nation in providing the highest quality insulating glass products for the residential window and door industry. Essential Functions | Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines Ensure open communication with manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floor Safely handle glass products of various sizes and weights using forklifts Utilize a range of power tools and equipment to repair racks Use materials to secure glass products based on size and weight Label crates accurately with product details Check the racks for any signs of damage or areas that may require repairs Prepare custom orders for shipment, packing, and arranging them on wooden crates and A-frames for delivery Inspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations Perform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work area Assist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectives Ability to work in a team environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines Requires regular in-person attendance Workplace Environment | Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects Noise levels can be high and will vary based on the location in the plant Qualifications | Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred Must be 18 years or older High School Diploma or GED preferred Physical Demands | Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs

Climbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch Shift:

1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30 AM- 3:00
