Job Summary The Window Measure Technician owns the accuracy of every window and door order before it is placed. This role performs final field measurements on sold projects, verifies that the contracted scope can actually be built as specified, documents field conditions, and confirms that each job is ready for production. This is an in-person field role based in Englewood, CO, with daily travel to homes across the Denver metro and Front Range, and occasional travel to mountain communities. Compensation & Benefits $28.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated product expertise. Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement per company vehicle policy. Target:
zero remakes attributable to measurement error. Every measured job passes the production readiness review with complete documentation: measurements, photos, buildability notes, and flagged discrepancies. Sales, operations, and production trust the measure file enough to act on it without re-verification. Primary ResponsibilitiesField Measurement & Verification Perform precise final measurements for all window and door projects (Pella, Anlin, and other product lines) prior to ordering, including full-frame and insert replacements. Verify each opening for square, plumb, and level; identify conditions that affect installation method, product selection, or pricing. Confirm the job can be built as sold. Check the contracted scope, specifications, and drawings against actual field conditions before any material is ordered. Identify and document pre-existing or concealed conditions (rot, out-of-square framing, non-standard openings, structural concerns, code triggers) and flag them before production accepts the job. Verify egress, tempered glass, and other code requirements for every opening and confirm the specified product satisfies them. Documentation & Handoff Photograph every opening and relevant field condition in CompanyCam; record all measurements, notes, and flags in the company system of record so the production file can be followed without interpretation. Complete and initial the measure sheet and material order for every job measured. Escalate any discrepancy between the sold scope and field reality to the Operations Manager in writing before the job proceeds. Never resolve a scope or pricing discrepancy verbally or independently. Support the production readiness review by confirming measurement and buildability items are complete for each job. Product Expertise Maintain expert-level knowledge of window and door product lines, installation methods, flashing and water management details, and glass options, and keep that knowledge current as product lines change. Serve as the internal technical resource on window questions for the sales and production teams. Assist with technical assessment of window warranty and service claims when assigned, including insulated glass unit evaluation. Customer Experience Represent Bellwether professionally in every home. Arrive on time, communicate clearly about what the measure visit covers and what happens next, and leave the homeowner more confident in their decision than before the visit. Communicate articulately about Bellwether services, culture, and values. General Expectations Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Genuinely likes windows. The right person finds this work interesting, not just tolerable. 3+ years of hands-on experience in window installation, window service, or field measurement for a window/door manufacturer, dealer, or replacement contractor. Installation background strongly preferred. Deep working knowledge of window types, installation methods (full-frame vs. insert), rough opening requirements, flashing details, and glass specifications. Understands local building code as it applies to windows and doors, including egress and safety glazing, or brings the drive and willingness to learn it cold. Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and drawings. Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline. This role exists to catch problems before they happen. Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable flagging problems directly and early. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Experience with CompanyCam, Hover, or similar field software is a plus. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Field-based role with daily driving between job sites across the Denver metro and Front Range; occasional travel to mountain communities including Summit County. Work performed inside occupied homes and outdoors in all Colorado weather conditions. Regular use of ladders; access to attics, crawl spaces, decks, and second-story openings.
