Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/Journeywoman Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in glass installation and construction, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role requires a combination of technical skills, including fabrication and assembly, as well as hands-on experience with various tools and materials. The Journeyman/Journeywoman Glazier will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installations while adhering to safety standards on construction sites. Responsibilities Install, repair, and replace glass in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial buildings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine specifications for glass installation. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and fitting glass. Perform fabrication tasks as needed to prepare materials for installation. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct heavy lifting and maneuvering of large glass panels safely. Apply caulking and sealants to ensure weatherproof installations. Assist in fixture installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, and trim carpentry as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience in glass installation or related fields such as carpentry or maintenance person services. Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices. Familiarity with metal stud framing techniques is preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Experience with fabrication processes related to glass or similar materials. Proficient in using both hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during work hours. Previous experience on construction sites is essential; remodeling experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality workmanship.
