The ideal candidate will assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of commercial and residential glass systems while maintaining a safe and professional work environment. This position requires the ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
Responsiblities:
Install and repair storefront systems, curtain wall systems, shower enclosures, mirrors, doors, and various glass products. Assist with measuring, handling, transporting, and installing glass and glazing materials. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites. Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary to perform glazing work. Follow project specifications, installation procedures, and company safety policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area, vehicle, and job site. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers. Complete assigned tasks and projects within scheduled deadlines. Assist with material deliveries and other labor-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license. Previous experience in glazing, glass installation, construction, or a related trade preferred. Knowledge of storefront, curtain wall, shower door, mirror, and commercial glass installations is preferred. Ability to read tape measurements accurately and follow work orders. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials safely. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime and travel to job sites throughout the Chicagoland area when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds or more with assistance when required. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work at various heights for extended periods. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
