Location:

Field-based throughout Greater Cincinnati, reporting to 1920 Losantiville Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio Reports to: Andy Naylor Why this role matters Frameless glass is cut once. Fabrication, schedule, margin, and the customer's opinion of us all rest on the measurement being right. Alluring Glass is a growing, owner-operated company in Cincinnati specializing in frameless shower enclosures for residential and light commercial work. We also build custom mirrors, glass railings, partitions, wine cellars, cabinet glass, and closet systems. We value craftsmanship, accountability, and long-term relationships with customers and team members. As Glass Templater, you are the last check before glass is ordered. You measure openings that are out of plumb, level, and square, and turn them into dimensions that produce glass that fits the first time. Catching a problem at the template is inexpensive. Catching it at installation is not. What you'll do Measure and template Take accurate field measurements for shower enclosures, mirrors, railings, partitions, wine rooms, cabinet glass, and closet systems Record plumb, level, and square conditions and account for them in glass sizing Specify panel sizes, notches, cutouts, hinge and hardware locations, edgework, and glass thickness Build physical templates for arched, angled, and non-standard openings Verify the site Confirm hardware, finish, glass type, and coating against the work order before glass is ordered Check that blocking and substrate will support the hardware and panel weight Evaluate curb pitch, waterproofing, tile and stone conditions, alignment, and clearances Flag obstructions, access limits, trade conflicts, and gaps between what was quoted and what the site will accept Document and hand off Produce field drawings fabrication and installation can build from without calling you Photograph conditions and enter measurements accurately in SmartGlazier Review templates with the project manager and confirm any change in writing Meet template turnaround standards that protect fabrication lead times Work with customers Walk the opening with the customer to confirm hardware placement and door swing Explain what installation day involves, including drilling, silicone, and cure time Refer scope, pricing, and schedule questions to the project manager Run your day Manage a daily route of appointments across Greater Cincinnati Coordinate schedule changes promptly with project management and customers Keep your vehicle, tools, and template material stocked and in working order Support field measurement in other markets on request What you bring Required 2+ years of field measurement, templating, layout, or installation experience in glass, countertops, cabinetry, millwork, or the finish trades Tape measure proficiency to 1/16 inch, and the discipline to verify rather than assume Ability to read plans, specifications, and shop drawings Clear hand field drawings someone else can build from Strong spatial reasoning and the judgment to spot a condition that will not work Comfort with computers, tablets, and business software Ability to work independently with limited daily supervision A professional, courteous presence in customers' homes Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Preferred Templating experience with frameless shower enclosures, mirrors, or architectural glass Glazing or glass installation background Digital templating or laser measuring experience Familiarity with shower hardware, finishes, glass types, and coatings Tile, stone, or waterproofing knowledge sufficient to evaluate substrate What success looks like: glass fits the first time, installers trust your numbers, site problems surface at template rather than on installation day, and customers are never surprised by anything you could have told them. Pay, schedule, and work environment This position pays $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience. It is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, with overtime paid for hours over 40 in a workweek. Daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional early starts, evenings, or weekends to work around other trades Work takes place in customers' homes and on active job sites across Greater Cincinnati, with periodic office time Physical demands include extended driving and sitting; standing, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, and climbing ladders; working in tubs and shower pans; lifting up to 50 pounds; and walking uneven job-site surfaces How to apply If you take pride in getting it right the first time, we would like to hear from you. Apply with your resume and a short note about your measurement or installation experience. Questions? Call 513-207-2464 or visit AlluringGlass.com. Alluring Glass is an equal opportunity employer.
