In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial doors, and related hardware across various construction and remodeling projects. This primarily involves working with hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, aluminum storefronts, overhead doors and hardware. Your expertise will ensure that commercial facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your technical skills, and contribute to the safety and aesthetic appeal of commercial spaces. Duties Install, repair, and replace commercial doors, frames, and hardware using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans. Perform welding and fabrication tasks to customize or repair metal components of doors and frames. Conduct heavy lifting of glass panels, doors, and framing materials safely using appropriate techniques and equipment. Hang doors securely on various types of door frames including metal stud framing and wood structures. Apply caulking, sealants, and trim carpentry techniques to ensure weatherproofing and finish quality. Work on construction sites with a focus on remodeling projects involving electrical wiring, fixture installation, cabinetry, or electrical components when needed. Read construction schematics to identify specifications for fabricating or installing doors and glass systems. Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols during all phases of installation or repair work. Skills Proficiency in glass installation techniques with a strong understanding of handling fragile materials safely. Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 75+ lbs Skilled in welding, fabrication, carpentry (including trim carpentry), and metal stud framing Experience with hand tools such as drills, saws, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring devices; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing large or bulky materials like glass panels or doors. Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for precise project execution. Mechanical knowledge related to door hardware mechanisms and electrical systems associated with fixtures or security devices. Construction site experience with remodeling projects involving electrical work or electrical experience is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on job sites while maintaining safety standards. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and understanding project requirements effectively.
