Your responsibilities will include:
Remove and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork Seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic. Install, remove, repair, and replace insulation systems aboard Navy and commercial vessels. Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulating material and protective coverings as required. Fabricate insulation covers and fittings to properly fit irregular or complex shipboard components. Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors. Measure, cut, fit, and secure insulation materials according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Prepare surfaces for insulation applications by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement or asphalt or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.
Requirements for this role include:
Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements. MUST have at least 3-5 years of industrial experience. Work as part of a team and be willing to assist other insulators.
