Field Measure Technician Daniels Glass Inc. | Commercial Glazing Contractor Join One of Michigan's Growing Commercial Glazing Contractors Daniels Glass Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Field Measure Technician to join our team. This position plays a critical role in the success of our commercial glazing projects by ensuring accurate field measurements, identifying potential issues before fabrication, and coordinating with project managers, estimators, and installers. If you have experience in commercial storefront, curtain wall, windows, entrances, and architectural glass systems, we want to hear from you. Position Summary The Field Measure Technician is responsible for obtaining precise field dimensions and verifying jobsite conditions prior to fabrication. This individual will work closely with project management and fabrication teams to ensure materials are manufactured accurately and projects are installed efficiently. Responsibilities Perform accurate field measurements for commercial storefront, curtain wall, entrances, windows,and architectural glass systems. Verify rough opening dimensions and identify discrepancies with contract documents. Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications. Document field conditions with detailed measurements, photographs, and reports. Coordinate field information with project managers, estimators, detailers, and the fabrication shop. Identify potential conflicts before fabrication to minimize costly field modifications. Verify anchor locations, structural conditions, and installation readiness. Attend project coordination meetings as required. Maintain measurement equipment and company vehicle. Promote safe work practices and represent Daniels Glass professionally on every jobsite. Qualifications Experience in commercial glazing, curtain wall, or architectural aluminum systems preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings. Strong understanding of storefront, curtain wall, entrances, and glazing systems. Experience using laser measuring equipment and layout tools. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam and construction software experience is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel to project sites throughout Michigan. Preferred Qualifications Commercial glazing installation experience. Knowledge of construction tolerances and field verification procedures. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
