Position Summary:

An Industrial Paint Apprentice is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the preparation and application of industrial coatings to a high standard of workmanship using a variety of tools and materials.

Responsibilities:

Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock's B safe and B best culture in all aspects of the business Comply with all manufacturer's specifications Work closely with assigned Mentor as per SSW Program Follow all Brock, Contractor's, and governmental safety requirements Perform work in accordance with Contractor Specifications Follow the applicable Brock, Contractor, and governmental safety requirements Learn to prepare and clean surfaces to be painted/ coated using methods including scraping, sanding, media-blasting, wet/ dry, hydro-blasting With supervision, match specified colours by using premixed paints, or mixing colour and pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives. Learn to apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to colour, decorate or protect from corrosion or deterioration, surfaces of buildings, towers and other structures using conventional spray painting equipment. Use brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain or varnish to surfaces of wood, metal, brick, concrete, plaster, stucco or stone. Clean and maintain equipment Assure proper equipment is being used for the specified tasks. Other duties as assigned.

ORIENTATION

• Must be able to successfully pass Brock and/or Safety Council Site Specific Orientation requirements.

HEAVY WORK

• Lifting up to 50 pounds of force from the floor to the waist and 35 pounds of force from the waist to above shoulder.

CLIMBING

• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like, to elevations in excess of 100 feet, to maintain three-point contact at all times. LADDERS
