These positions are responsible for assisting with or performing the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical insulation systems across industrial and commercial projects. Team members will work with various insulation materials and systems to support energy efficiency, temperature control, personnel protection, and overall system performance while following company and jobsite safety requirements. Major Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this position. This is not a complete list of all duties, and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the position and business unit. Install, remove, repair, and maintain insulation on ductwork, plumbing systems, HVAC piping, and other mechanical systems. Assess the scope of assigned work, accurately complete material takeoffs, and perform work in accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications. Measure, cut, fit, and install various types of insulation on mechanical and plumbing systems. Measure, cut, fabricate, and install metal jacketing around insulated mechanical and plumbing systems. Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required to perform assigned work. Follow all company, project, and site-specific safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Complete OSHA 10 training as required. Perform other duties as assigned based on project and business needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to safely and properly use and maintain required tools and equipment. Experience using various hand and power tools. Demonstrated commitment to following workplace and jobsite safety requirements. Ability to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and other project documents. Ability to meet applicable screening and access requirements for assigned projects, including Federal and Military installations. Previous experience in construction, mechanical insulation, HVAC installation or repair, or a related field is preferred but not required. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments with potential exposure to dust, noise, construction debris, varying temperatures, and inclement weather conditions. Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, squat, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work safely at elevated heights. Ability to perform tasks requiring firm grasping, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to safely work with specialized construction equipment, tools, and materials. Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communication when required. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to successfully complete required respirator fit testing. Ability to safely climb, work from, and descend step ladders and extension ladders.
