Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder specializing in MIG welding to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality welds on various metal materials, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. Hours Monday-Friday 6am-3pm Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on a variety of metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed technical drawings and blueprints. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine weld locations, dimensions, and specifications. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure precise fabrication and assembly. Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and OSHA standards to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites or fabrication shops. Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts according to project requirements. Inspect completed welds using appropriate measuring instruments to verify quality and compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Collaborate with team members in assembly processes and ensure the proper use of welding techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and quality control documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for efficiency and quality. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops with a focus on metal welding. Proficiency in MIG welding techniques along with knowledge of TIG and SMAW processes. Strong mechanical knowledge including blueprint reading, shop math, and interpreting technical drawings. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes for precise fabrication. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly processes. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards as well as AWS welding standards. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Construction experience preferred with an understanding of crane operations and safety protocols. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments. Mechanical fabrication skills including the use of hand tools, power tools, and gas cutting equipment.
