POSITION SCOPE
The Rodbuster involves the placement of rebar in pre-determined patterns before the concrete is poured, as well as tying the rebar together with wire, to ensure that it is secure. Rodbusters must be able to read and understand blueprints, as well as use the proper tools to secure the rebar in place. They must also be able to lift and move heavy objects and be comfortable working at heights. Safety is of paramount importance in this job, and workers should be familiar with the proper safety protocols. Must have experience working in mountainous terrain with steep grades.PRIMARY DUTIES
Prepare and install reinforcing steel for poured concrete structures Safely operate various power and hand tools to measure, cut and shape steel Assemble and tie steel pieces together using wire and clamps Install steel pieces according to blueprints or oral instructions Monitor the quality and safety of their work Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to coordinate the rebar installation process Using power tools to cut and shape the steel rods and mesh Using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to determine the size, shape, quantity, and location of the reinforcing rods Ensure that all rebar work meets or exceeds industry standards and local building codes Working with reinforcing steel bars Cut, bend, and install rebar according to specifications, using specialized tools and equipment Position structural components Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up to date with the latest techniques and industry best practices Perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Rodbuster or similar role Strong understanding of construction site safety practices Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks Must be physically fit and able to lift 75 lbs. Must have knowledge of proper safety procedures Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members Must be able to read blueprints Must have basic carpentry and welding skills Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test Attention to detail for accurate placement of reinforcement materials Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow Must have experience working in mountainous terrain with steep grades.
