$35-45 per hour Reports to: PEMB Project Manager Job Summary Kindness General Contractors, LLC is seeking experienced and motivated Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Installers/Ironworkers to join our construction team. This position will be performing the erection, installation, alignment, and assembly of pre-engineered metal building systems including structural steel components, wall panels, roof systems, insulation, trim, and related accessories. The ideal candidate has experience working in commercial or industrial construction environments, can safely operate tools and equipment, and understands structural layout, rigging, and fall protection requirements. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights. Duties & Responsibilities Install and erect PEMB systems including structural steel frames, girts, purlins, wall panels, roof panels, trim, insulation, gutters, and downspouts. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, layout plans, and construction specifications, plus. Measure, align, and level structural components during installation. Safely use hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and rigging equipment. Assist with unloading, staging, and organizing construction materials. Perform bolt-up, fastening, sealing, and weatherproofing activities. Work closely with foremen, project managers, crane operators, and other trades. Identify and report damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or installation concerns. Maintain clean and organized job sites. Follow company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and all site-specific safety requirements. Wear and properly utilize required PPE and fall protection equipment at all times.
Required Skills/Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 5+ years of PEMB, steel erection, structural steel, or related construction experience preferred. Experience working at heights and using fall protection systems. Ability to read construction drawings and tape measurements accurately. Basic knowledge of rigging, structural alignment, and construction safety practices. OSHA-10 certification preferred. Scissor lift, boom lift, forklift, or rigging certifications are a plus. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to varying job sites. Physical Requirements This position is considered physically demanding and requires the ability to: Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to safely climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and structural steel in elevated work environments. Ability to work at heights exceeding 6 feet while properly utilizing fall protection and other required safety equipment. Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and upper body movements while operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Ability to maintain balance, coordination, and situational awareness while working on uneven terrain, active construction sites, and elevated structures. Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental and weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, dust, and direct sunlight. Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, cranes, moving machinery, and other active construction operations. Ability to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, high-visibility vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots. Work Environment Commercial and industrial construction job sites. Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions. Overtime, weekends, and travel may be required based on project needs.
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
