The basic function of this role is to make sure metal refinishing work is completed within the quality, service, and safety standards set by SOLID Surface Care, Inc. The Regional Technical Expert trains and develops crews, controls quality in the field, supports the sales team on technical bidding, leads customer demonstrations, and helps stand up metal work in new markets. This role reports to Technical Operations. This is a travel-based role supporting our Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, DC markets, with a minimum of 50% travel. Responsibilities:
Ensure all crew members comply with company policies and safety procedures Train and develop crews in metal refinishing processes and techniques to ensure high quality of service Accountability partner for all new hire training and advancements with tracking successful completions, including successful completion of Apprentice Testing Communicate regular feedback with Leadership Control quality in the field through job-site audits and customer sign-offs Support the sales team on technical bid scoping for complex or non-standard metal work Lead on-site demonstrations and sample finishes for customers, especially in new markets Set up metal shops and vans in new markets, including equipment, supplies, tooling, and vehicle outfitting Ensure company shops and vans are clean, organized, equipped, and properly maintained Complete paperwork including, but not limited to: Training Checklists, Audit Checklists, Maintenance Lists, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, Toolbox Talks, Job Site Sign-Offs, Customer Satisfaction Reports Collaborate with management teams regularly to achieve overall company goals Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information Safeguard and protect all company assets in his or her care Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers, vendors, and company employees Practice good communications skills to promote a positive environment Perform all other duties as assigned Requirements:
Education, Certification and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., minimum of three years of metal refinishing required and five years of metal refinishing preferred. Must have driver's license including Chauffeurs where applicable, insurable driving record, insurance acceptable MVR, over 18 years of age, and permanent telephone number. Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Standing, kneeling, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, scrubbing, movement of upper torso, stretching, climbing ladders and scaffold, carrying equipment such as five-gallon pails of water, scaffold pieces, spray equipment, etc. Have full use of eyes, ears, and full power of speech. Work will be done at job sites or in the shop area. Work may involve routine, protected exposure to solvents and other chemical materials which are safety sensitive. This role requires significant travel by car and common carrier, which involves routine travel hazards. The schedule will include some day and some night work and travel. About Us:
