In this energetic role, you will handle the sorting, processing, and recycling of scrap metal materials, ensuring efficient operations while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and commitment to safety will help us maintain a clean, organized, and compliant facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable practices while working with a variety of machinery and materials. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, and landfills management machinery to move and process scrap metal efficiently. Sort, grade, and prepare scrap metal for recycling or sale, ensuring quality standards are met. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly at all times to maintain safety for yourself and colleagues. Follow hazardous materials regulations and safety regulations during all handling and processing activities. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris and performing routine cleaning tasks to promote a safe environment. Assist with environmental compliance efforts by managing waste disposal and recycling processes responsibly. Support sanitation efforts by ensuring proper disposal of non-recyclable waste materials in accordance with company policies. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery in manufacturing or recycling environments. Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, hazardous materials handling, and environmental compliance. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday. Familiarity with landfill management practices and sanitation procedures is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for sorting and processing scrap materials. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working in potentially hazardous environments. Prior experience in recycling facilities or waste management is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
