This position is a vital part of delivering expert overhaul and repair of aircraft components. In this role, you'll be an integral part of the overhaul and repair process for jet engine and airframe components, such as tubes, ducting, etc. Veterans are highly encouraged to apply. Must pass pre-employment drug testing mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration and submit to random drug testing in compliance with the Company's Drug and Alcohol Policy. Core Tasks :

Use grit blasting equipment to prepare a variety of metal surfaces for further processes. This may include cleaning, smoothing, or roughening surfaces on metal materials. Perform sanding, grinding, and polishing of metal components to remove sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections. Use hand and power tools such as belt sanders, abrasive wheels, fixtures, files, scrapers, solvents and miscellaneous hand tools. Grind, polishing and or buff a wide variety of metal products, maintaining the specified finish and grain. Grind, polish and or buff along weld lines to create a continuous and uniformly blended surface. Select and use the required wheels and abrasives. Clean and inspect parts prior to passing them on to Quality Control Collaborate with quality control and production teams to address defects or discrepancies in parts. Assists other trades personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Follow detailed repair procedures, document work performed, and communicate findings clearly to team members. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate and maintain media blasting machines, including adjusting pressure, media, and equipment settings to achieve the desired results Operate and maintain hand tools, grinders, sanders, polishers. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

Safety Compliance:

Follow strict safety guidelines to prevent injury and ensure the safe operation of blasting equipment. This includes wearing protective gear (e.g., gloves, respirators, face shields) and adhering to environmental and workplace safety regulations. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:
