In this energetic and hands-on role, you will be responsible for installing reinforced steel bars (rebar) to provide structural support for concrete structures. Your expertise will ensure that construction projects are built safely, efficiently, and to precise specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, from commercial buildings to renovation projects, contributing directly to the integrity and durability of each structure. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine rebar placement and specifications. Cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools and power tools to meet project requirements. Install rebar securely within formwork, ensuring proper alignment and spacing according to safety standards and blueprint specifications. Assist with concrete pouring, concrete finishing, and concrete pumping activities to ensure seamless integration with rebar reinforcement. Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, concrete cutters, and other machinery necessary for efficient rebar installation. Follow all construction workplace safety regulations and safety protocols during rebar installation and related activities. Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople on-site to coordinate tasks related to formwork construction, masonry work, and renovation efforts. Experience Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on rebar installation or related masonry tasks. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques, heavy equipment operation, and the use of hand tools such as pliers, cutters, hammers, and measuring devices. Understanding of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols. Experience with concrete forming, concrete cutting, concrete finishing, flooring installation, plastering, and renovation projects is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment operation will be an asset.
