Position Summary The In-Plant Railcar Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing freight railcars at customer facilities in accordance with AAR, FRA, customer, and company standards while maintaining a safe, professional, and quality-focused work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect freight railcars in accordance with AAR, FRA, customer, and company requirements. Diagnose defects and perform repairs to brake systems, couplers, draft gear, running gear, safety appliances, and structural components within certification level. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled repair activities. Safely operate hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and power tools. Follow all safety policies and customer-specific requirements. Complete inspection reports, work orders, labor reporting, and repair documentation accurately and on time. Maintain company tools, equipment, inventory, and housekeeping. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in company drug and alcohol testing. Pass required background screenings. Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use tools. Physical RequirementsWorking Conditions Lift up to 75 pounds. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather. Stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb throughout the workday. DOT-regulated vehicle operation may be required. Maintain a valid driver's license and remain insurable. Why Join Us?
