This position is responsible for custom fabrication of miscellaneous (Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless) products, with a wide range of applications from Railings to sheet metal products.Responsibilities Include:
Meets with customers and interprets process prints to produce part or assembly to customer requirements. Verifies material and component type and quantity before use. Organizes time to meet production schedule requirements. Performs daily and weekly machine maintenance activities. Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed work area. Understands and follows safe operating procedures. Able to set-up and operate production weld equipment, including MiG, TiG, plasma-arc, stud and spot welding equipment. Assists team members with set-up and operation. Improves the quality of product and or processes through improving fixtures and or tooling applications. Skilled at set-ups and meets or exceeds the proven set-up times. Inspects and approves work prior to sending to the next operation. Completes all required company paperwork. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brake presses, shears and notchers to shear, notch and form metal components for assembly. Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures. Load and unload material as needed using a forklift. Knowledge and operation of welding equipment, hand tools, power tools and production equipment Reading and interpreting fabrication/welding specifications from text, drawings and CAD drawingsRequirements:
Knowledge of MIG, Dual Shield, and Stick welding. Ability to read and understand the process flow. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knows proper measurement techniques. Knowledge of forming and layout of sheet metal. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the fabrication of sheet metal structures Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and using a tape measure.Qualifications:
Ability to complete a Fab and Fit-Up test during the interview process Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Job Type:

Physical Demands (The nature of physical effort leading to physical fatigue) The Laborer has a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling, hammering and laboring, and can include lifting up to 75-100 lbs. The Laborer will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The Laborer must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way. Environmental Conditions (The nature of adverse environmental conditions affecting the incumbent) The Laborer must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. He/she may at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.
