For More information please call 312-656-6972 Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding operations using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble and repair metal components. Your expertise in reading technical drawings, measuring instruments, and adhering to safety standards will ensure precision and efficiency on the shop floor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects in a dynamic environment, emphasizing craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine weld locations, dimensions, and specifications. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and ensure precise fabrication. Maintain compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards, ASME codes & standards, and safety protocols during all welding activities. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with metal materials. Hands-on experience with MIG welding processes in accordance with AWS standards. Familiarity with blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks. Knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques including plasma cutting, soldering, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes confidently. Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, welding procedures, ASME codes & standards, and safety protocols. Prior experience working with power tools, hand tools, crane operations knowledge is a plus but not mandatory.
