At Midtown Signs, we create high-quality custom signage that combines craftsmanship, design, and durability. From architectural signs to large-scale branding projects, we fabricate with precision using metal, plastics, wood, and specialty finishes. We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team and help bring our designs to life. Position Summary The Metal Fabricator is responsible for cutting, welding, forming, and assembling metal components for custom signage projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, adaptable, and takes pride in producing quality work that represents our clients' brands. Key Responsibilities Fabricate, weld, and assemble signs and sign structures using aluminum, steel, and other metals. Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
Operate fabrication equipment such as:
MIG and TIG welders Shears, brakes, rollers, and grinders Saws, drills, and other shop tools Fit and finish materials to precise tolerances. Collaborate with design and production teams to troubleshoot fabrication challenges. Ensure all projects meet quality standards, client specifications, and shop deadlines. Follow OSHA and shop safety procedures at all times. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related trade (sign industry experience preferred but not required). Proficiency in MIG welding (aluminum experience highly desirable). Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints. Experience operating metalworking tools and machines. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to custom projects. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing quality work. Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Skills CNC router or plasma cutting experience. Knowledge of finishing techniques (grinding, polishing, painting prep). Familiarity with sign industry materials (aluminum, ACM, steel, etc.). Forklift certification or ability to be trained. Benefits Competitive pay based on experience. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear.
