This role requires strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to ensure structures are assembled safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Structural Fitter works closely with supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules while maintaining high safety and quality standards Qualifications 3 years of experience as a Structural Fitter in an industrial or heavy construction environment required Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Working knowledge of structural fabrication, fitting, and welding processes Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and fitting equipment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service Willingness to pursue training and professional development as needed Key Responsibilities Lay out, fit, and assemble structural components Measure, mark, cut, align, and fit materials according to drawings and specifications Set up and operate welding and fitting equipment to tack or weld, components together Communicate work progress, issues, and changes effectively with supervisors and team members Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve fabrication or fit-up issues in a timely manner Provide quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines Follow all safety policies and procedures and immediately report all incidents or accidents, regardless of severity, to supervision Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
