Steel Erection Technician ($$$25-35+/hr based on experience - APPLY NOW!!!!!) Job Description The Steel Erection Technician installs steel beams, girders, and columns to create structural frames for sheet metal roofing systems on pre-engineered metal buildings. This role focuses on ground work, steel framing installation, and preparing structures for roofing while working safely and efficiently on active construction sites. Responsibilities Install steel beams, steel girders, and steel columns to form structural frames for sheet metal roofing systems on pre-engineered steel buildings. Perform ground work to support steel erection activities, including staging materials and preparing work areas. Assemble and install sheet metal components and metal trim according to project specifications and drawings. Assist with structural steel and iron work during erection, alignment, and securing of steel members. Prepare structures for roofing installation by ensuring framing, sheet metal, and trim are correctly installed and ready for the roofing team. Operate or work in coordination with operators of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other construction equipment as required for elevated work. Support welding activities and basic mechanical tasks related to steel erection and sheet metal assembly, following safety and quality standards. Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety procedures while working at heights and on active construction sites. Collaborate with other field personnel and trades to complete construction and steel erection tasks on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience working with pre-engineered metal buildings. At least 2 years of experience in sheet metal installation and steel erection. Hands-on experience with structural steel, steel girders, and steel columns in a construction environment. Proficiency in sheet metal assembly and installation of metal trim components. Practical experience in iron work and steel erection on active construction sites. Familiarity with operating or working around boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other aerial work platforms. OSHA 10 certification. Ability to read and follow construction directions and work safely at heights. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with construction tools and equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Boom lift, scissor lift, and construction forklift certifications are a plus but not required. Experience with pre-engineered steel buildings beyond the minimum requirements is beneficial. iExperience n welding or assisting with welding in a structural steel environment is advantageous. Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction crew. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Why Work Here?
