Job Description

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is looking for experienced MIG Welders to join our fabrication shop. In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision.

1st Shift , 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary
Responsibilities:
Weld structural steel members using MIG (gmaw) wirefeed processes Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements Follow proper safety instructions Work in a team environment Perform other duties as needed by supervision
Education Requirements:
Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
Specific Structural Welding Skills:
Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8" material Good verbal communication skills with other employees Positive attitude Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements Ability to read blueprints
Specific Physical Skills:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary Ab i lity to st o o p, b e n d, c r awl, and cli m b l a d d e r s th ro u gh o ut the s hift Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels Ability to work from heights utilizing ladders and lifts
