Job Title:
Metal Fabricator Job Description The Metal Fabricator operates a variety of sheet metal fabrication equipment, including press brakes and lasers, to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced production environment. This role flexes between multiple machines and supports the paint line as needed, ensuring that urgent orders move efficiently through each production stage. Responsibilities Operate press brake, flat laser, and tube laser to fabricate sheet metal parts according to specifications and blueprints. Flex between all assigned machines and the paint line based on production needs and workflow priorities. Operate cranes or lifts safely to move parts between workstations and production areas. Stack finished and in-process parts neatly and securely on pallets to maintain organization and safety. Grind and punch out parts to remove burrs and achieve required finishes and tolerances. Load parts into welding equipment as needed to support downstream processes. Work at a steady and efficient pace to meet deadlines and support urgent orders. Follow established safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines at all times. Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to keep production running smoothly. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machines, tools, and material handling equipment. Essential Skills At least 6 months of metal fabrication experience, working on any type of fabrication machine. Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication processes. Ability to operate or learn to operate press brakes and brake presses. Ability to operate or learn to operate flat lasers and tube lasers. Basic experience or familiarity with grinding metal parts. Ability to read and follow blueprints or production drawings. Comfort operating cranes or lifts to move parts safely between stations. Ability to work at a consistent pace to support urgent and time-sensitive orders. Willingness to flex between different machines and production areas as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with sheet metal fabrication in a production or manufacturing environment. Exposure to laser cutting equipment such as flat lasers and tube lasers. Experience supporting a paint line or finishing operations is a plus. Comfort loading parts into welding equipment or working near weld cells. Strong attention to detail when handling, grinding, and stacking parts. Willingness to learn and train on equipment that is new or unfamiliar. Work Environment This role is based in a hands-on manufacturing environment where you will flex between multiple machines and the paint line depending on production needs. You will work around press brakes, flat lasers, tube lasers, welders, cranes, and other metal fabrication equipment. The company actively trains team members on equipment they are not yet familiar with, encouraging continuous learning and cross-training. The standard schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays. The setting is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and maintaining an efficient production flow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
