Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shop Fabricator specializing in the construction of tanks, vessels, and piping systems. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality metal components in a fast-paced shop environment, ensuring all projects meet safety standards, technical specifications, and quality expectations. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project specifications. Fabricate tanks, vessels, piping systems, and related components using roll form tank sheets Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) following AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely and efficiently during fabrication processes. Assemble fabricated parts according to specifications while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while documenting fabrication processes and inspection results. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment with metal materials. Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation and shop math for accurate fabrication. Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings related to tanks, vessels, piping systems, and sheet metal fabrication. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication processes, machining techniques, and assembly procedures. Experience with safety protocols specific to welding shops and construction sites to ensure a secure working environment. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment effectively. Ability to read blueprints accurately and perform shop math calculations for precise fabrication outcomes. Knowledge of AWS standards for welding quality assurance is highly desirable.
