Job Description
Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We are seeking highly skilled and reliable Structural Welders to join our team. This position involves performing precise welding and assembly of metal structures on various construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in metal fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and welding techniques, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse materials, including sheet metal and structural steel, utilizing advanced tools and welding methods to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures. Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, flux core, and stick, ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural components from metal materials including sheet metal, steel plates, and other metal fabrication products. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely and efficiently during fabrication processes. Use crane operations for lifting heavy components into position while maintaining safety protocols. Conduct quality inspections of welds using measuring instruments to verify adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to construction site activities and welding operations. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects within specified tolerances. Document work progress accurately and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors promptly. Experience Must have experience working on a boom lift or other aerial platforms. Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and assembly. Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and welding in accordance with AWS standards. Experience reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings for fabrication purposes. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Prior work in a fabrication shop environment involving sheet metal fabrication and mechanical fabrication processes. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to construction sites and welding operations. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation, machining processes, plasma cutting, and assembly procedures. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, gas metal arc welding equipment, and other fabrication tools effectively. Understanding of construction project workflows with an emphasis on metal materials handling and installation. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
