SMP Welding is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication and welding experience, the ability to work independently from prints and drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Job description - Fitter/Fabricator Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication and welding experience, the ability to work independently from prints and drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Fabricate parts and assemblies to print and within specified tolerances Read and interpret mechanical fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols Perform TIG and MIG weldment fabrication with a high level of quality and accuracy for the following materials: mild steel, stainless steel Operate fabrication equipment and tools safely and efficiently Perform material cutting, bending, punching, fitting, grinding, sanding, and assembly work Ability to learn and regularly use a Press Brake and Bridgeport Prepare and finish weldments and fabricated parts Perform drilling, tapping, and general shop fabrication tasks Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on schedule and to company quality standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of fabrication and welding experience Strong working knowledge of MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, Plasma, and related fabrication processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings Familiarity with drawing packages Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and within a team environment Ability to lift up to 60 lbs Valid driver's license Reliable transportation and ability to travel to customer locations when needed Willingness to work overtime as required Ability to work with engineers
