Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel & Industrial Conveyor Fabricator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsman with 5+ years of hands-on experience fabricating structural steel, industrial equipment, conveyor systems, platforms, supports, frames, and related components. This position requires the ability to work independently from shop drawings, fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols while maintaining high standards for accuracy, quality, productivity, and safety. The successful candidate will be capable of taking a project from layout and material preparation through fitting, welding, assembly, and final inspection with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel, industrial, and conveyor fabrication drawings.
• Interpret dimensions, tolerances, elevations, section views, details, and welding symbols.
• Perform accurate layout and measurement of beams, channels, angles, plate, tubing, pipe, and other materials.
• Fabricate structural steel assemblies including beams and columns, frames and supports, platforms and walkways, equipment bases, brackets and miscellaneous steel, conveyor supports and structures, conveyor frames and components, chutes, hoppers, guards, and related industrial equipment.
• Fit and assemble components using clamps, jigs, fixtures, levels, squares, come-alongs, chain falls, and other fabrication equipment.
• Perform tack welding and structural welding as qualified.
• Perform MIG/FCAW and other welding processes appropriate for the work.
• Use oxy-fuel and plasma cutting equipment.
• Operate grinders, magnetic drills, saws, ironworkers, presses, and other fabrication equipment.
• Perform drilling, coping, beveling, grinding, gouging, and material preparation.
• Verify dimensions, squareness, alignment, elevations, and overall fit-up throughout fabrication.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, dimensional conflicts, or material issues before fabrication progresses.
• Work with welders, machinists, painters, project managers, and other shop personnel to complete projects efficiently.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and other material-handling equipment when qualified.
• Perform self-inspection to ensure completed work meets drawings, specifications, and company quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and installation of fabricated equipment when required.
• Maintain production schedules while not sacrificing workmanship or quality. Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in structural steel, industrial fabrication, conveyor fabrication, or a closely related field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of welding symbols and fabrication terminology.
• Advanced layout and fitting skills.
• Ability to independently fabricate assemblies from drawings with limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of steel sizes, grades, shapes, and fabrication practices.
• Proficient with tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Proficient with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, drills, saws, and other shop equipment.
• Welding experience with MIG and/or Flux-Cored Arc Welding, TIG, STICK
• Ability to perform accurate fit-up and tack welding.
• Ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, angles, and dimensional calculations.
• Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality requirements.
• Ability to safely handle and position heavy steel components.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience fabricating industrial conveyor systems.
• Experience with belt, screw, drag, or other industrial conveyor equipment.
• Experience fabricating conveyor frames, supports, chutes, hoppers, guards, platforms, and access structures.
• Experience with structural steel beams, columns, stairs, handrails, platforms, and miscellaneous metals.
• AWS welding certification or demonstrated ability to pass company weld qualification tests.

• Experience in an AISC or ISO-controlled fabrication environment.
• Overhead crane and forklift experience.
• Experience with air arc gouging.
• Experience with field installation or industrial equipment installation.
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and fit-up problems without constant supervision.

• Stand and work for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various positions.

• Work around welding operations, sparks, fumes, noise, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery.
• Work safely around overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and suspended loads.
• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe footwear, and welding protection as applicable.
