Job Description

Hershocks, Inc. - 3501 N. 6th Street Harrisburg, PA 17110 Established in 1935 and Central Pennsylvania's leading commercial glass and aluminum contractor has an opening in its Service Division. This individual will be trained to be a Glazing Mechanic and has the long-term opportunity to advance in the field or fabrication operations. Many of the Hershocks current management positions are filled by individuals who began in the field or fabrication operations .
Position:
Glazier Trainee
  • MUST BE ABLE TO PASS INITIAL DRUG SCREEN - WE TEST FOR ALL ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
  • Responsibilities:
  • Installation of curtain wall, storefront, and building entrances
  • Reading manufacturer instructions and executing details for specific systems
  • Proper and safe use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, scaffold and swing stage
  • Understanding and following of OSHA regulations
  • Reading blueprints to determine location of aluminum framing
  • Determining plumb of walls or ceilings by using plumb lines, levels, and level transit
  • Cutting and installation of metal sashes and/or moldings
  • Installation of glass units into sashes or frames with clips or moldings
  • Secure mirrors in position using mastic, putty, or mechanical fasteners
  • Transporting material to job site and loading material onto proper floor
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED & Valid PA Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Passing post-offer employment physical which includes drug testing
  • Able to pass PA Criminal History and Child Abuse Clearance background checks
  • Individual needs good mechanical aptitude. Carpentry skills is a plus.

Benefits:
  • Position pays $17 - $20 per hour as a trainee depending on experience and up to $25 per hour as a fully trained Glazier.
  • Opportunity to work prevailing wage projects earning up to $32/hr
