Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Welder to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for fabricating custom piping systems, structural supports, and specialty assemblies while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is an experienced welder with a strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment. Responsibilities Fabricate custom piping systems, hangers, supports, and specialty assemblies according to project specifications. Interpret CAD drawings, fabrication drawings, and field sketches to accurately manufacture components. Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pipe and structural materials. Assist with specialty welding projects and support production during periods of increased workload. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on shop equipment to ensure reliable operation. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with shop personnel and field teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Journeyman-level experience as a Plumber or Pipefitter preferred. Certification and demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding procedures for carbon steel and stainless steel pipe and structural fabrication. Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, fabrication drawings, and field sketches. Experience with additional trades such as electrical, carpentry, or sheet metal fabrication is a plus, but not required. Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work safely in a fabrication shop environment. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
