Job Description

Diakon Behavioral Health Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport, within several public-school buildings and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for serving as a resource person, case manager, counselor and trainer to support the Family Based Services Unit. Responsible for providing in-home individual and family therapy to clients with social and emotional disturbances. Creates systematic change through the use of a variety of therapeutic interventions with clients and their families. Provides case management and crisis intervention as needed.
Education/Training:
A bachelor's degree in social service or a related field of study required.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related child welfare or human service position normally required.
ADA:
Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills
