Job Description

RSC is currently hiring experienced First Class Shipfitters for long-term new construction shipyard work in Pascagoula, MS. This position offers competitive pay, steady work, overtime opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits $42.00/hour $147/day Per Diem (for qualified non-local candidates) 75 Miles Long-Term Employment Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Referral Bonus Program Overtime Opportunities Weekly Pay Job Responsibilities Interpret and work from shipyard blueprints, drawings, and sketches. Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components. Fabricate and install angles, brackets, clips, and structural members. Perform coping, beveling, and fitting operations using hand and power tools. Read and interpret dimensions, tolerances, and layout information from prints. Use burning equipment, grinders, and fitting tools safely and effectively. Tack weld components for final assembly. Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Maintain quality and safety standards at all times. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of First Class Shipfitter experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial environment. Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout measurements. Experience with structural fitting, coping, angle fabrication, and layout work. Ability to perform complex fit-up work using limited drawing information. Skilled in measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling steel components to specifications. Familiarity with shipyard tools, burning equipment, and fitting procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to work from measurements and dimensions. Must be able to pass a Shipfitter Skills Test. Requirements Must pass a Hair Follicle Drug Screen. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. Must pass Respirator Clearance. Must pass a Shipfitter Skills Assessment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
