Job Description

Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a Forge Shop Trimmer Trainee. You will operate electric furnaces to heat materials to proper forging temperatures and operate presses to hot trim, punch and bend forgings as needed. You will also assist crews with various tasks as needed. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. Responsibilities Receives instructions and work assignments from Foreman. Manually loads material in furnace by hand and/or monitors bowl feeders. Observes material in furnace to determine when material is ready for processing. Returns cut bars to furnace to be re-heated when necessary. Removes material from furnace when unit is shutdown. Assists Hammerman in die changes and any other activities necessary to prepare hammer to run. Keep unit area clean and orderly at all times Checks product visually for match, scale, mismatch, laps, cold shuts or other visual defects. Follows all safety procedures and precautions. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required. Relevant experience preferred. Additional Requirements Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
