$18.00•22.00 per hour (DOE & Fitting Test)

Shift:

2nd Shift | 3:00 PM•11:30 PM Hours may extend to 5:00 PM•3:30 AM based on overtime. Some Saturdays required.

Temp-to-Hire Position Summary Ascend Staffing is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Fitter for a leading manufacturer of canopy systems and related components serving the Retail Petroleum Industry. This position is responsible for reading blueprints, fitting and assembling metal components, performing MIG tack welds, and preparing materials for fabrication while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Candidates with metal fitting experience are highly preferred. Blueprint reading and blow torch cutting experience are required. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications. Fit, align, and assemble metal components according to production requirements. Set up and operate fitting equipment, welding machines, and blow torches. Perform MIG tack welding to secure components prior to final welding. Inspect fabricated parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy. Make adjustments to fittings and welding techniques as needed to meet specifications. Safely operate power tools and fabrication equipment. Maintain welding and fitting equipment in proper working condition. Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures while wearing required PPE. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of metal fabrication, fitting, or MIG welding experience. Blueprint reading experience is required. Experience using blow torches for cutting and fitting. Proficient with hand and power tools. Ability to accurately measure and fit metal components. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed. Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious.
