Job Description
GST Manufacturing has an immediate opening for a Structural Steel Detailer. This person uses Tekla and AutoCAD drafting software to model and prepare fabrication drawings and submittals for structural steel and miscellaneous steel construction projects. Qualified candidates are proven draftspersons/detailers with at least five (5) years prior experience. Responsibilities 1. Prepare shop fabrication and erection submittals for structural steel and miscellaneous metal scope of work such as building framing, canopies, stairs, railings and supports. 2. Review and revise submitted drawings based on customer review and comment. Work with internal team and customers to finalize Issued for Construction drawings. 3. Program NC1 files for CNC equipment, bill of materials for purchasing and hardware lists for both shop and field use. 4. Work with site personnel for field verifications. Travel to jobsites as needed. 5. Attend internal and external job meetings and turnover meetings. 6. Work with shop personnel and field crews to address any fabrication or design issues. 7. Work with outside engineers for load calculations and stamping of completed drawings. Basic Qualifications 1. At least five (5) years prior experience in detailing structural and miscellaneous steel 2. Expert level blueprint reading 3. Significant experience with Tekla detailing software 4. Able to fully understand customer specifications 5. Complete understanding of AISC standards 6. Problem solving and ability to adapt 7. Able to work within deadlines Compensation and Benefits This is full time salaried position.
